About Individual Counselling

The Way I Work:
My approach has been influenced by a range of psychotherapeutic models and theories, and I believe this helps me adapt to each individual client’s needs and to work in a flexible, collaborative and creative way.

From our earliest experience, it is our relationships with others which profoundly influence how we think, feel and interact with the world around us. I see the therapeutic process as providing the opportunity to explore problems and distress, to gain greater understanding of troubling feelings and behaviour with the aim of helping clients work towards achieving a greater sense of fulfilment in their lives. The relationship between counsellor and client is central in providing space and support as the client is helped to engage with the present, reflect on the past and consider possibilities for the future.

I work to the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy code of ethics and framework for good practice.  I am supported by regular supervision/consultancy and follow an ongoing programme of continual professional development.

Please contact me by phone or email to arrange an initial consultation to discuss if further counselling sessions might be helpful for you.
