The way I work

I work with an integrative approach, which means I combine ideas and insights drawn from different counselling models in order to respond appropriately to the needs of individual clients.

I endeavour to develop a supportive and collaborative relationship with clients and to provide the space for them to reflect on their life story and the difficulties they are faced with. This involves a process of exploring the present, making sense of the past and taking steps towards the future.

I have experience of working with a wide range of issues including:

  • Anxiety & depression
  • Work related issues
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Loss & bereavement
  • Identity issues
  • Eating disorders
  • Low self-esteem
  • Life transitions

I work to the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy code of ethics and framework for good practice (www.bacp.co.uk/ethical_framework) and follow its rules relating to confidentiality. As required by the BACP, I am in regular supervision and follow an ongoing programme of continued professional development.
